Homeless, orphaned, malnourished, and poor children are found everywhere, especially in the developing and under-developed countries. To give them what they need has been the focus of Dewi Saraswathi India Trust. Since the time of its establishment in 1996 in a small village called Kilavedu, near Chengalpat, a big town 60 kms to Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu, the project is growing gradually in reaching out to the poor and the needy. Originally founded in 1992 in Hamburg as Dewi Saraswati Hamburg, this inter-religious organization evolved in Indonesia and India due to the existing need in these countries.
